What is Listening & Spoken Language (LSL)?
Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) is an approach designed to support children who are deaf or hard of hearing in developing their listening and spoken language skills. This method emphasizes the use of hearing and speech, utilizing amplification technology when needed, to foster communication abilities analogous to those of their hearing peers. For many families, LSL makes it possible for their child to learn to listen and talk in the language their family uses at home, and to attend their local school with typical-hearing peers.
